Wire woven mesh soil sieve: The mesh is usually square, and the size range is roughly between 2.36 mm and 0.02 mm. Its characteristics are good screen flexibility, which can effectively screen fine particles. It is suitable for detection and analysis with high requirements for soil particle fineness, such as soil particle size distribution determination, etc. The screen specifications are optional, such as 20-200 mesh.
Perforated plate screen soil screen: mainly used for large mesh screening, with round holes and square holes, and the mesh size can range from 0.2 mm to several hundred millimeters. It has the characteristics of high strength and good wear resistance, suitable for screening soil with large particles or soil containing impurities such as stones. It uses a variety of materials such as stainless steel and iron plates. The products are widely used in chemical industry, agriculture and other fields, and are suitable for screening materials such as soil.
Electroforming screen soil screen: mainly used in high-precision screening occasions, which can ensure that each mesh is within the average error range, and can achieve accurate classification of soil particles. It is often used in scientific research and other scenes with extremely high screening accuracy requirements.
Coarse-grained soil (such as sandy soil, gravel soil): large-aperture screens (such as 2mm, 5mm, 10mm and above) are preferred for preliminary screening of larger particles and judging the proportion of coarse particles in the soil. For example, soil screening for construction needs to first screen out particles larger than 2mm and analyze the sand content.
Fine-grained soil (such as silt and clay): needs to be matched with a small-aperture sieve (such as 0.5mm, 0.25mm, 0.075mm) for fine screening and determination of the proportion of fine particles (silt and clay). For example, when determining soil gradation in geotechnical tests, a 0.075mm sieve is required to separate clay particles.
If the soil particle size varies greatly (such as containing stones and fine soil), a "stepped sieve" combination can be used: first use a large-aperture sieve (such as 60mm, 40mm) to remove stones, then use a medium-aperture sieve (20mm, 10mm) to screen coarse particles, and finally use a small-aperture sieve (below 2mm) to analyze fine particles.

Common soil sieve types are mainly classified according to their structural form, driving mode and application scenarios, and are often used for particle size analysis, soil sample pretreatment, screening and grading, etc.
Standard test sieve: usually Φ200mm or Φ300mm stainless steel round sieve frame, which can be stacked and used for soil particle grading analysis, suitable for standard particle size detection in laboratories, teaching, geological surveys, etc.
Slap-type standard screening machine: uses mechanical slapping and vibration to achieve screening, and is used with standard test sieves. It is more efficient than manual work and is suitable for particle size composition analysis experiments such as soil and sand.
Electric vibrating sieve machine: uses the principle of motor excitation to drive the sieve up and down or in three dimensions, with higher screening efficiency, suitable for automatic screening of soil samples in laboratories.
Ultrasonic test sieve: adds ultrasonic vibration function on the basis of standard sieve, used for precise screening of fine powder soil, mainly used for micro-fine soil and silty clay.
The coarse sieves commonly used in geotechnical tests are generally round holes with apertures of 100mm, 80mm, 60mm, 40mm, 20mm, 10mm, 5mm, and 2mm; the fine sieves are generally square holes with equivalent apertures of 2.0mm, 1.0mm, 0.5mm, 0.25mm, 0.10mm, and 0.075mm.
